I'm Dori, the founder of Aligned Coaching

I wasn’t born fit or confident; I built it.
When I started my fitness journey over a decade ago, I was tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own body and trapped in an endless cycle of dieting. What began as a search for confidence led me to compete in fitness shows, learn discipline, and understand what it truly means to transform both physically and mentally.

My mission is to help women create structure that fits their lives, so they can feel strong, confident, and free without restriction or guilt.

I’ve now helped over 150 women find that same balance and I’m here to help you do it too.

My Story — From Frustration to Freedom

Hi, I’m Dori, founder of Aligned Coaching, and a woman who’s been on both sides of the fitness journey.

Growing up, I was never the “lean” or “skinny” girl. I carried a little extra weight and often felt like I didn’t fit into the beauty standards of the early 2000s. I’ve always loved food and flavour, but with my genetics, I believed I had to constantly diet just to look “good enough.”

That pressure pushed me into the gym and eventually into fitness competitions. I was determined to become the girl I never thought I could be. At first, I believed my genetics were holding me back, but I proved myself wrong. I got stage-lean multiple times, even though it meant working twice as hard as others. It showed me that anything is possible with the right mindset and structure.

But over time, I realised I didn’t just want to be skinny, I wanted to feel strong, confident, and happy in my body. That’s when my real transformation began.

Finding balance after extremes

After my last show 4 years ago, I struggled to find my footing. For years, I had lived by strict routines — six meals a day, daily cardio, constant discipline. When that stopped, I felt lost. Without the next goal or show, I didn’t know how to just be.

At times, I struggled with overeating and guilt. Competing taught me discipline and mental strength, but it also left me with habits that weren’t sustainable. The constant pursuit of perfection took away the joy of movement and food.

Even with all my experience, it took time to rebuild balance. But over the past year, I’ve found what truly works: a lifestyle that feels aligned with both my body and my mind. I now eat three to four meals a day, train four times a week, and move my body because I want to, not because I have to.

Why I coach

This journey shaped who I am and the coach I’ve become. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, to chase extremes, and to lose yourself in the process. That’s why I created Aligned Coaching to help women find their version of balance and confidence, without the all-or-nothing mindset.

I’ve now helped over 150 women transform their bodies, health, and mindset through a structure that fits their lives, not the other way around. My approach is personal, realistic, and built on education, not restriction.

Because real change isn’t about dieting harder, it’s about learning, growing, and aligning your habits with the life you actually want.
